  • Actually there werent any produced it was a company which the name draws a blank with me right now that bought a group of 540's and converted them. the company had all the info on plates riveted to the fender. but very nice tractor especially the 30 diesel I love those tractors.

  • I was going to say, i never knew they made them either but not a Cockshutt expert, but my dad had a couple out to the farm when i was a kid

  • Thanks for all the comments. Yes, the tractor was built in Brantford, Ontario. I don't know where it was built as a hi crop. There is no evidence of a field conversion. Lots of parts are different than a basic 540. I don't see any plates or rivet holes in the fenders. The hi crop parts have the same paint as the rest of the tractor.

  • Craig, Thanks for posting picture of the Cockshutt 540 high crop. Never knew any of them existed until maybe 10 or 15 yrs ago saw one on a trailer being hauled somewhere. It was right near Oneonta NY not far from where we live! It really is frustrating to find out before too late that some things that would be convenient to know about are right in your back yard! Have had thoughts of purchasing 540 along with the other Cockshutts here? Thanks,Dave
